Timothy, who is in the school play, and John, the captain of the football team, go to the same geography class and fall in love. It is 1976 and their love meets with strong opposition within their Catholic high school as well as their conservative families. But Tim and John don't let their feelings get in the way and stay together. Opening up their relationship, a place at university in Sydney, all test their love. But there is something that even their great love cannot conquer... 9 years after his last feature film, ''Candy'' with Heath Ledger, director Neil Armfield takes on one of Australia's greatest gay love stories. The autobiography of the same name by author Timothy Conigrave was published in 1995. As a major Australian film production, the young actors Ryan Corr and Craig Stott could be engaged, but also very well-known actors such as OSCAR® winner Geoffrey Rush (''Pirates of the Caribbean'', ''Shine'', ''The King's Speech'') and Guy Pearce (''Priscilla'', ''Iron Man 3''). The film with great classic potential not only had an excellent theatrical release in Australia, but has already won countless film awards.
